So, I hold an English degree (which I barely scraped a 2:ii in) and I believe my grasp of the English language to be suitably ‘ok’. I think that is why I find it so amusing that I have forced the phrase ‘well more betterer’ into the classroom and, now, the staffroom. Excellent.
What could be better (or betterer) than having some completely, grammatically incorrect phrase do the rounds by your hands… or mouth?
So, with that in mind, I give you a section of this email I received the other day.
I bought a chopping board and C’s comment on it was, “I like it. It’s well more betterer than the old one.” You taught her so much and yet so little …
