I’ve been meaning to float these for a while but after a prompting from @dawnhallybone thought I’d get my digital finger out…
I’ve used these surveys with parents and children to get a simple snapshot of the school.
The first is a simple ‘hands-up‘ chart for teachers to ask children: esafety questionnaire
The second is a ‘what are your views/thoughts on ICT‘ for the parents: e-learning questionnaire
By all means, copy, change, update. I need to update ours and re-do for this year and will float again once I’ve done so.

As part of Anti-bullying week, I am leading the whole school through a few elements of e-safety. I have already delivered a starter based on a few elements to tease our way into it – see HERE. On Monday I will be using two videos: Jigsaw for the Y5/6 and Animal Magic for Y3/4. Both videos are available for free download on the Thinkuknow site.
After the session with me, the children will be going back to class to work on other elements of friendship and anti-bullying week. (I personally think Simon Haughton’s idea of calling anti-bullying week ‘friendship week’ is much better.) The children will have to design an e-safety poster based on what they’ve learnt but with a spin. They have an iPad template (other tablets are available) and they have to create the apps and say what each app is for. There is a blank template and my version as a demonstration.
Feel free to try them out and let me know what you think.
anti-bullying week pres PPoint – kept it simple. To work alongside the videos as mentioned above. The majority of the images included therein are from the thinkuknow website. 🙂
The original is a publisher file – if you want that so you can tweak it, email me: benwaldram@me.com

Before I did my big e-safety talk for the parents and staff last week, I did this as a mini-intro for the children to get them thinking about it. Also, to try to get them to go home and pester their parents to come to the meeting.
I used this as a little taster, hoping to do another assembly soon. Jigsaw video and the importance of avatars for Y5/6 and not sure for Y3/4 yet… any ideas always gladly received.

So, on Tuesday I am to do my first presentation to parents and staff on e-safety. It should have been done some time ago but got postponed for many reasons. Of all the meetings that I’ve led (and I’ve led a few) this one has taken me the longest to prepare. Maybe it’s because it was my first dip into Prezi, maybe it was because there was just a wealth of information available or maybe, it was simply down to the fact that I know it is so important, that I didn’t want to take it lightly.
I have included a link to my prezi and the notes that I will use along with it as well as some of the resources I’m giving to parents. If you want to use any of them, feel free to tweak/use/abuse just let me know what you thought.
I’ll follow up this post with my reflections on how it went… we shall see.
Big thanks to Alan Mackenzie (esafety adviser) for all his help and ideas.
Any comments below would be greatly appreciated 🙂
